From the opening lines of “I’ve Got a Gun” it’s apparent that the follow-up to 2003’s Matter of Time is a departure for
Bambi Lee Savage. Where Matter of Time introspectively bared its soul, the simultaneously menacing and enticing GJ and the PimpKillers is
locked and loaded for righteous action. The opening track is just the beginning of an assertive and unapologetic commentary - “Crazy World” refers to sinister
terrorist plots and “PimpKiller” is as stylish a revenge song as any downtrodden prostitute could hope for. But GJ and the PimpKillers is tempered by songs of
love and redemption, ultimately offering an unexpected olive branch on the heels of violence, despair and revenge.
